Chad Flatt of Pro Wrestling Weekly and his tag team partner, “The Motor City Madman” Johnny Kayfabe, are back this week taking a look at all the happenings from both WWF Monday Night RAW and WCW Monday Nitro that originally aired on July 22, 1996. RAW emanated from Seattle and featured the fallout from the previous evening’s PPV offering, In Your House: International Incident. The main event of that card saw Camp Cornette victorious with Vader getting a pinfall win over WWF Champion, Shawn Michaels, in the six man tag. This set the stage for a one on one re-match at SummerSlam 1996 with the championship on the line. The Undertaker and Mankind also look to be headed toward a showdown after interfering in each other’s business over the last few weeks. We also see the debut of a man that would go on to be elected to the WWE Hall of Fame although his debut character was less than HOF worthy. ver on TNT, the nWo are still running roughshod through the ranks of WCW with mention of a fourth member to arrive soon. Will we soon find out who is behind this powerful group? Only time will tell. One thing is clear, “Hollywood” Hogan wants a title shot and he’s going to get one at the next WCW PPV, Hog Wild, against The Giant. This episode of Nitro also featured more exciting cruiserweight action and more in the continuing real life drama between Chris Benoit and Kevin Sullivan. There’s plenty here to sink your teeth into as things are heating up in the dog days of Summer 1996 on Monday Is War!
