Chad Flatt of Pro Wrestling Weekly is joined as always by The Man of 1,000 Nicknames, Johnny Kayfabe, as they travel back to August 5, 1996 and examine both WWF Monday Night RAW and WCW Monday Nitro. On RAW, we see the continuation of the rise of Ahmed Johnson as he wins the 11 man battle royal and is named #1 contender to the WWF World Championship. He will face the winner of the Vader/Shawn Michaels main event at SummerSlam at the following night's RAW. We also learn that next week will mark the debut of Clarence Mason's newest client. This individual has a checkered past to say the least. What will happen when he unleashes his fury on the ranks of the WWF? Shawn Michaels also sits down for an interview with Kevin Kelly. Knowing what we know now about HBK back in those days his comments are insincere at worst and laughable at best. On Nitro, the nWo are playing mind games with the WCW roster. Mysterious limos arrive filled with ominous gifts that perhaps forecast the fate of WCW. The in ring action isn't the best we've seen but the drama and suspense continues to build headed into the Hog Wild PPV in Sturgis that will see Hollywood Hogan try to take the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from The Giant. Will this be the first big win for the nWo or will The Giant step up on behalf of WCW? The war rages on as the summer of '96 heats up on this edition of Monday Is War!
