This week Chad Flatt of Pro Wrestling Weekly is joined as always by "The Motor City Madman" Johnny Kayfabe for a look at the June 24, 1996 editions of WWF Monday Night RAW and WCW Monday Nitro. This was week 2 in the 84 week winning streak for Nitro in the TV ratings war. RAW was taking place from Green Bay, WI and featured fallout from the previous night's King of the Ring PPV. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was victorious in that tournament as Austin 3:16was born. He found himself in the main event of RAW against The Undertaker in what may very well have been the first televised meeting between the two inside a WWF ring. Ahmed Johnson fresh off his Intercontinental Title win the previous evening, opened the show against Triple H . The feud between Sunny and her former team, The Bodydonnas, heats up. "The Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman also makes his presence felt as well. On Nitro, we saw a triple threat main event for the WCW World Tag Team Titles between Sting/Lex Luger, Harlem Heat, and The Steiner Brothers. The Outsiders made an appearance and had to be held at bay by Charlotte's finest law enforcement officers. Nitro also featured matches with stars such as Cruiserweight Champion Dean Malenko, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Eddie Guerrero, and a surprise appearance from the legendary Rock & Roll Express! The tension is building within the ranks of WCW as the invasion by these "Outsiders" intensifies. With Bash at the Beach right around the corner, the action is heating up! Don't miss your chance to revisit wrestling history on this edition of Monday is War!
